The Misty Moorlands Kickstarter campaign in January of 2015 was met with great success, and even before the campaign ended, the backers had lots of great ideas for terrain features they wanted to see included. This Coasts and Rivers set was born from those ideas, and when Coasts and Rivers is paired with The Misty Moorlands, the possibilities are endless!
We have been playing tabletop games our entire lives and wanted to provide the gaming community an alternative to green tablecloths. So, we set out to create an easy to use and inexpensive solution that could also create incredibly diverse battlefields. Created by You - We polled over 450 backers from the Misty Moorlands Kickstarter campaign to determine which terrain features the community wanted. Then we tailored the Coasts and Rivers set specifically to them!

Every TerraTiles: Coasts and Rivers box will contain 60 double sided hexagon tiles, which is enough to cover over 24 square feet. As part of the $25,000 stretch goal, each box will also feature 6 double sided half hexagon tiles to straight the edges of the board. 3D standup trees and walls will be included in every Coasts and Rivers box - 9 trees and 6 walls. It also includes reusable putty to secure your TerraTiles to the table. While the number of hexagons in the box is fixed, their distribution will change if stretch goals are reached. To ensure Coasts and Rivers matches The Misty Moorlands, the hexagons will showcase a matte finish and linen texture. Misty Moorlands is the first TerraTiles terrain set. It was funded on Kickstarter in January of 2015. It features 60 double sided tiles and 6 double sided half tiles with a variety of terrain features ranging from open grassland and forests, to streams and rocky terrain. The size of the tiles matches Coasts and Rivers exactly, so you can combine the two sets to create some amazing boards! The graphic below shows everything included in the Misty Moorlands box:
Take TerraTiles to another level! We are offering a set of precision-cut expanded polystyrene risers to provide battlefield elevation. The risers are one inch thick and strong enough to support even your heaviest miniatures. Use them to raise any of the existing hexagons to different levels, greatly increasing the amount of variation in your battlefields and adding important strategic depth. The risers are white and can be painted any color you choose. Each package contains ten risers. If you would like a package of risers shipped to you as part of your Kickstarter rewards, be sure to select one of the reward levels in which they are included, or add 24 USD to your pledge for each additional package of risers you would like to add on.
We have set the Kickstarter funding goal for TerraTiles as low as possible to get it into production. But, this means we need your help to make the TerraTiles: Coasts and Rivers box as robust as it can possibly be. Therefore, we put together a stretch goal ladder based on campaign funding and an achievement ladder based on social media shares. All Coasts and Rivers boxes will include all stretch goals reached.
The social media achievements are reached by sharing this page on Facebook and retweeting the official campaign launch tweet. Facebook shares, retweets, entries in the TerraTiles GeekList, and "thumbs" given to the GeekList will be added together to reach the achievements on the ladder above. TerraTiles creates a beautiful table with lots of terrain options while still being very practical for game play. Each tile works with all of the others in any orientation. The streams, roads, and coasts each enter and exit in the middle of a side of the hexagon, so they link seamlessly with the adjacent hex. The stream hexagons do not have a distinguishable current, so they may be used in either direction. The sandy shore hexagons can be used to depict a shoreline or can be put together to create a wide river. The putty included in the boxed set can be placed in a few spots around the board to prevent sliding.
TerraTiles depicts a variety of easily distinguishable terrain types that can be used with any number of rule sets. You will find lightly wooded and heavily wooded hexagons, as well as difficult and very difficult ground.
We understand you would rather spend your hard earned money on games rather than shipping, so we have done as much as possible to keep shipping costs to a minimum. Therefore, we have worked to make this Kickstarter campaign EU Friendly by coordinating with Ideaspatcher. We are also partnering with Snakes and Lattes in Canada and an Australian fulfillment center to help bring down the cost of shipping to those areas. Rewards shipped to backers in the US, EU, CAN, and AU will have their rewards shipped from within those countries.
