Dogs에서 각 플레이어는 개집을 소유하고 있으며 도시 개들을 위한 가장 크고 편안한 보호소로 만들고 싶어한다. 각 경기는 3단계로 나뉜다.

1단계에서는 보드와 시티라는 두 가지 시나리오를 통해 차량(트럭)을 이동시켜 유기견을 모으는 행위와 보상, 의료와 먹이가 필요한 다양한 인종의 유기견 등이 가치가 있지만 게임 종료 시 귀중한 포인트를 준다.

2단계에서는 플레이어가 특별한 카드를 선택하고 5개의 장소에서 중요한 행동을 수행합니다: 시티, 창고, 애완동물 가게, 동물 클리닉, 트레이드 쇼 도그. 라운드 내 각 위치를 활용할 수 있는 선수의 수가 제한돼 있어 좋은 결과를 얻기 위해서는 올바른 액션 선택이 필수다. 또한 게임에는 4가지 종류의 자원(화폐, 휘발유, 배급, 의약품)이 있으며 이들을 통제하고 페널티 장애를 피하기 위해 필수적이다.

3단계에서는 개에게 먹이를 주고 조수의 급여를 지불하며 다음 라운드를 위한 보드를 조직한다.

In Dogs, each player owns a kennel and want to turn it into the largest and most comfortable shelter for city ​​dogs. Each game round is divided into three phases:

In Phase 1 players move their vehicles (trucks) through two different scenarios of the board, Field and the City, collecting stray dogs, rewards will be worth it, and abandoned dogs of various races who need medical care and food, but yield valuable points at the end of the game.

In Phase 2 players select special cards and perform important actions in five places: the City, the Warehouse, the Pet Shop, Veterinary Clinic and Trade Show Dogs. The number of players who can use each location in the round is limited, and therefore, choosing the right action is essential to bring good results kennel player. In addition, there are four types of resources in the game (money, gasoline, ration and medicines) and is essential to keep them under control and avoiding penalties disorders.

In Phase 3 players feed the dogs in their stalls, pay the salaries of assistants and kennel organize the board for the next round.
