이 게임에서 각 플레이어는 격동의 세월 동안 이베리아 반도에서 권력과 패권, 생존을 다투던 3대 강대국(기독교 왕국, 샤르크 알안달루스, 알모하드 칼리프국) 중 한 명의 역할을 맡는다. 군사력, 정치적 교활함, 고혹적인 외교력, 상업적 부, 문화적 찬란함 등을 통해 최고 승점을 축적해 명성과 영광을 더 많이 누리는 반도 강국이 되는 것이 플레이어의 목표가 될 것이다.

이 게임은 7개의 턴으로 구성된 카드 드라이브 시스템을 사용하며 각 턴은 1150년부터 1213년까지 9년의 기간을 나타낸다. 각 턴은 5단계(개방, 외교, 스프링, 액션, 윈터)로 나뉜다. 게임은 완전히 비대칭적인데, 각 세력은 지리적 위치, 자원, 통치자, 신하, 군사 지도자, 연합 세력, 그리고 완전히 독특하고 특정한 주제별 미니게임을 가지고 있기 때문이다.

다음 조건 중 하나가 충족되면 게임이 종료된다: 한 선수가 승점 50점을 획득하거나, 7턴 종료에 도달하거나(승점이 가장 많은 선수가 승리), 샤크 알안달루스가 병합될 경우(이 경우 크리스천 선수와 알모하드 선수가 승리한다).

Asedio a Al-Andalus (1150-1213) is a medieval strategy, geopolitics and diplomacy boardgame for 3 players that tries to represent the political, ideological and military conflicts that took place in the Iberian Peninsula and its areas of influence between the second half of the 12th century and the early 13th century, in an exciting time of crusades, epic battles and court intrigues.

In the game, each player will take on the role of one of those three main powers (Christian Kingdoms, Sharq Al-Andalus and the Almohad Caliphate) that were vying for power, hegemony and survival in the Iberian Peninsula during those turbulent years. Whether through military force, political cunning, seductive diplomacy, commercial wealth or cultural splendor, the player's goal will be to accumulate the highest number of victory points to become the peninsular power with more fame and glory.

The game uses a card drive system that consists of 7 turns and each of them represents a period of 9 years, beginning in the year 1150 and ending in the year 1213. In turn, each turn is divided into 5 different phases (opening, diplomacy, spring, action and winter). The game is completely asymmetrical, as each power has its own geographic position, resources, rulers, courtiers, military leaders, allied factions, and totally unique and specific thematic minigames.

The game ends if one of the following conditions is met: that a player reaches 50 victory points, that the end of turn 7 is reached (the player with the most victory points wins) or that the Sharq Al-Andalus is annexed (in which case the Christian player or the Almohad player will win, depending on their victory points).
