피난처 카드를 섞고 엎드려서 스택에 넣습니다. 액션 카드도 섞이고 각 플레이어에게 5장의 카드가 주어지며 나머지 카드는 추첨 더미를 형성합니다. 각 턴은 두 단계로 구성됩니다: 먼저 플레이어가 액션을 수행한 다음 액션 카드 더미에서 카드를 꺼냅니다.

플레이어는 차례가 되면 다음 중 하나의 액션을 선택할 수 있습니다: 간식 또는 개 덫 액션 카드를 플레이하거나, 뼈 동전 3개 또는 러브 카드 4장에 개를 입양하거나(보호소 더미에서 상단 카드를 뽑아), 입양된 개 아래에 러브 카드를 넣거나, 카드를 버리고 새 카드를 그릴 수 있습니다(폐기된 카드\의 액션을 활성화하지 않고). 턴이 끝나면 플레이한 카드는 달리 명시되지 않는 한 폐기 더미에 배치되며, 플레이어는 항상 액션 카드 더미에서 카드 한 장을 뽑습니다.

보호소 더미에는 입양 가능한 반려견을 대표하는 카드가 포함되어 있으며, 플레이어는 5장의 반려견 카드를 채택해야 당첨될 수 있습니다. 단순히 반려견을 입양하는 것만으로는 충분하지 않으며, 플레이어는 반려동물에게도 사랑을 베풀어야 합니다. 일부 도그 카드에는 채택 즉시 활성화되는 특별한(1회 또는 영구) 기능이 있습니다. 본 코인은 보호소에서 개를 입양하는 데 사용되며, 러브 카드는 개를 입양하거나 기존 반려동물에게 애정을 표현하는 데 사용할 수 있습니다(4장 필요).
간식 카드는 플레이어에게 일회성 혜택을 제공하는 반면, 개 덫 카드는 다른 플레이어를 방해할 수 있습니다. 더 "허용되지 않습니다!" 카드는 다른 플레이어의 액션에 응답하여 해당 액션을 무효화하여 플레이할 수 있습니다.

게임은 플레이어가 마당에서 입양한 개 5마리를 성공적으로 돌보며 승자가 되면 종료됩니다.

"Adopt and love forever!" – this is the slogan of Vau, which highlights the importance of dog adoption and responsible pet ownership.

Shuffle the shelter cards and place them face down in a stack. Action cards are also shuffled, and each player is dealt 5 cards, with the remaining cards forming a draw pile. Each turn consists of two phases: first, the player performs an action, then draws a card from the action card pile.

Players can choose one of the following actions during their turn: play a treat or a dog trap action card, adopt a dog for 3 bone coins or 4 love cards (by drawing the top card from the shelter pile), place a love card under an adopted dog, or discard a card and draw a new one (without activating the discarded card\'s action). At the end of the turn, played cards are placed in the discard pile unless specified otherwise, and players always draw one card from the action card pile.

The shelter pile contains cards representing dogs available for adoption, and players need to adopt 5 dog cards to win. Simply adopting a dog isn\'t enough; players must also show love to their pets. Some dog cards have special (one time or permanent) abilities that activate upon adoption. Bone coins are used to adopt dogs from the shelter, while love cards can be used to adopt dogs (4 cards required) or to show affection to existing pets.
Treat cards provide one-time benefits to the player, while dog trap cards can hinder other players. The "Not Allowed!" card can be played in response to another player’s action, negating that action.

The game ends when a player has successfully cared for 5 adopted dogs in their yard, making them the winner.
