오메가 전쟁은 25세기 북아메리카를 지배하기 위한 전략 전쟁의 2인칭 게임이다. 한 명의 선수(유니온 플레이어)가 북미 고등판무관의 역할을 맡아 세계 연합의 세력을 통제한다. 다른 플레이어(레벨 플레이어)는 비밀 오메가 조직의 총재 역할을 맡아 세계 연합에 대항하는 원주민 세력을 통제한다. 플레이어들은 번갈아 새로운 힘(플레이 피스로 표현됨)을 키워 북미의 지도를 가로질러 다른 플레이어의 군대를 공격하고 전략적 목표를 달성하기 위해 사용한다.

Ares Magazine #14. The Omega War is a post-apocalyptic fight for North America, 2419. World Union forces fight against "Omega Organization" rebels.

Armageddon... 2121... the year the missiles fell. For three-quarters of a century man had held the atomic genie in check. Then the long-dreaded nightmare happened. The nations of Europe and North America went to war...and took the atom with them.

The Omega War is a two-player game of strategic warfare for control of North America in the 25th century. One player (the Union Player) takes the role of the High Commissioner for North America and controls the forces of the World Union. The other player (the Rebel Player) takes the role of the Directorate of the secret Omega Organization and controls the native forces opposing the World Union. The players alternately raise new forces (represented by the playing pieces) and maneuver them across a map of North America, using them to attack the other player's forces and to achieve their strategic objectives.
