모노폴리(Monopoly)는 플레이어가 게임 보드를 돌아다니며 부동산을 사거나 거래하는 롤앤무브 게임이다. 상대가 플레이어가 소유한 부동산에 착륙하면 소유 플레이어는 랜딩 플레이어로부터 임대료를 받는다. 부동산을 소유하면 해당 부동산을 소유한 플레이어에게 사각형에 착지하는 플레이어가 지불하는 임대료가 증가한다. 궁극적인 목표는 가장 많은 돈을 가지고 반대자들을 파산으로 몰아가는 것이다.

소개
독점: Materials Edition은 Advanced Metalic Systems Center for Ph.D.의 학생들이 개발했다. 학생들은 이 게임을 재료 과학과 공학에 대한 인식을 높이고 야금 세계의 사람들을 참여시키는 것을 목표로 하는 공공 참여 프로젝트의 일환으로 개발하였다.

이 게임은 전통적인 모노폴리처럼 진행되지만, 플레이어들은 보드를 돌면서 부동산을 구매하는 대신 다른 재료를 구매한다. 금속, 세라믹, 폴리머, 컴포지트를 포함한 모든 재료들이 게임에 등장한다. 연구 개발에 투자하면 랩과 연구 센터를 구입하여 재료를 보다 발전된 기술로 업그레이드할 수 있습니다. 예를 들어, 종이 클립의 강철을 고층 빌딩으로 바꾸는 것입니다!
속성 카드는 기술에 대한 간략한 설명을 제공합니다. 빨간 등을 가진 학생들은 상위 GCSE와 A-Level 학생들을 목표로 하며, 블루카드는 더 어린 학생들에게 더 간단한 언어(~KS3)를 사용한다.

Monopoly is a roll-and-move game where players move around the game board buying or trading properties, developing their properties with houses and hotels. When opponents land on players owned property, the owning player collects rent from the landing player. Owning sets of properties increases the rent paid to the player who owns them, by the player who lands on the square. The ultimate goal is to have the most money and drive opponents into bankruptcy.

Introduction
Monopoly: The Materials Edition was developed by PhD students from the Advanced Metallic Systems Centre for Doctoral Training. The students developed the game as part of a public engagement project which aims to raise awareness of materials science and engineering and engage people with the world of metallurgy.

From the rear of the box:
The game is played just like traditional Monopoly but instead of purchasing property, players buy different materials as they travel around the board. Materials including metals, ceramics, polymers and composites all feature in the game. Investing in research and development enables you to buy labs and research centres to upgrade your material to a more advanced technology, for example turning steel from paperclips into skyscrapers!
The property cards provide a brief description of the technology. Those with red backs are aimed at upper GCSE and A-Level students and the blue cards use simpler language for younger students (~KS3).
