플레이어는 지도 시트나 전략 시트에 자신의 마커를 번갈아 배치한다(후자는 점유한 16진수의 승리 포인트를 증가시키거나 보드에서 마커를 제거해야 하는 등 특별한 결과를 불러온다). 일단 두 선수가 12개의 표지를 모두 배치하면, 그 위치들은 우승 농부를 결정하기 위해 점수가 매겨진다.

"Welcome to your new farm! The land has been previously farmed pretty hard and it is your turn to make it profitable again."

Players take turns placing their markers, either on the mapsheet or on a strategy sheet (the latter invokes certain special results, such as increasing victory points for occupied hexes, or requiring markers to be removed from the board, etc.) Once both players have placed all twelve of their markers, the positions are scored to determine the winning farmer.
